Yoga has taught me that by breathing, quieting your mind, and turning your awareness inward, you can find that inner peace that resides within each of us. My classes allow students to strengthen and open their bodies while deepening their internal connection. I strive to guide my students to learn to love and accept themselves by teaching that the practice of yoga is a personal journey that is about showing forgiveness, compassion, and love to ones true self. I have found that when you can shift your attention inward, when the mind is quiet, when breath and movement are aligned, a sacred open space is created that allows you to experience the luminous flow of yoga that comes from the inner dance of mind and body. My classes are guided in a positive, encouraging, and playful manner.
Sarah took her first yoga class in 2003 and was instantly hooked to the transformative powers of the practice. In 2007 she decided to deepen her practice by enrolling in her first 200-hour teacher training. She went on to receive her 500-hour YogaWorks teacher training under the mentorship of Erika Trice. She has been inspired by the Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Viniyoga traditions. She has studied with Erika Trice , Larry Schultz, Hillary Skibell, Vinnie Marino, and Nikki Estrada.
Sarah teaches vinyasa flow classes with an emphasis on alignment so there is intelligence and a purpose to her sequencing. Once the pose has been established, she encourages her students to go beyond it, so that transformation can take place. Her purpose as a teacher is to allow the student to have an authentic experience that is sacred, healing, and uplifting. “It is through our fears that our courage is revealed and through the darkness we find our light.”
