Bob has been an avid practitioner of yoga since 2001, focusing on Ashtanga since 2003. Following a lifelong interest in health, fitness, and bodybuilding, in 2003 Bob traveled to Mysore, India for the first time to study with Sri K Pattabi Jois, the founder of modern Ashtanga Yoga, and his grandson, Sharath, who is responsible for carrying forth his grandfather's teachings. In order to deepen his understanding of core fitness, Bob was certified in Pilates in 2004 by the Physical Mind Institute and has been teaching Pilates since this time. Continuing education has also obtained certifications in advanced and standing Pilates, BalleCore Pilates as well as Pilates for golf.

He returned to India in 2007 to continue his study of Ashtanga, and following that trip completed a 300 hour teacher training course at It's Yoga in San Francisco. His training included comprehensive training in asana, pranayama, and the study of bandas. In 2008, he completed a 100 hr teacher training in Anusara yoga to deepen his understanding of proper alignment, meditation, the chakras, and to study in depth with an amazing teacher named Maritza.

In June of 2009 Bob took another 100 hr Ashtanga Yoga teacher training, this time from Tim Miller in Encinitas California. Bob now has accrued 500 hrs of Yoga training. Bob remained a steady student of Ashtanga yoga for 5 years. He continues to study many styles of yoga in order to be exposed to a variety of perspectives on asana poses and yogic practice. In addition to Ashtanga, he currently practices Anusara, Iyengar, Yin, Power and Vinyasa flow classes. Bob's education in the eight limbs of yoga is an ever-continuing lifetime endeavor.
